Back on the road again...

You probably aren't wondering, BUT..........after a long hiatus due to some knee issues, William and Lisa are finally riding again.  After just two weeks of prep riding, our good friends from FL came to KY for a visit that included touring the scenic backroads of the Commonwealth.  We challenged them (and ourselves!!) to twisty roads that would give the infamous "Dragon" a run for its money!  The Red River Gorge, Nada tunnel, etc. etc. in KY hold their own against those infamous roads known by many bike enthusiasts.  Check out some pics from the daily rides during the visit blogged by the webmaster of this site in the photo gallery section entitled "KY Fall 2009 visit" from the home page.  Any of you are welcome to visit us and see for yourself...

Saturday, Oct 17 - William and Erika enjoyed a father-daughter ride on Monday since she had the day off work observing Columbus Day.  The chilly morning (low 40's) did not deter them from getting an early start.  Backroads of the Commonwealth took them to Frankfort, the capital city, for lunch.  While Willam's memory fails him in recalling the name of the hole in the wall greasy spoon they ate at, he said the food was great and cheap.  He also says the building looks like it would fall over if a breeze hit it too hard.  I'll have to insist on a revisit that includes me so I can pass along the name of the joint and confirm the food review.  The remainder of the week has not been very hospitable for riding - wet and cold.  Yesterday's high in Lexington was a mere 48 with light precipitation most of the day.  Hopefully, we'll get a little more of the fall season and a few more rides squeezed in before winter relegates the bike to the garage and the trickle charger......
